Increase Your Rankings and Traffic

Submit your Blog - Free blog submission sites, most don't require registration!

Are you looking to increase the traffic to your blog? Building links from directories will increase your link popularity, direct traffic, and search engine rankings.

There are several lists of “Blog Directories” around the Internet, but most of them feature only a hand full of directories, and they lack a ranking factor to make it easier for the reader to scan through the list.

Below you will find a very extensive list of Blog Directories, ordered according to their Alexa rank. We have also inserted the Pagerank of each directory on the list to make it more detailed. Enjoy!

Exploring Microblogging services

Micro-blogging platforms like Twitter and Pownce allow you to write short text messages to be shared with friends or everyone. I have been using Twitter from a long time now. If you are are using twitter you can follow me on http://twitter.com/tihsur. Microblogging is a part of social network. This allows you to keep in touch with a circle of friends who might be interested in what you are doing from time to time. As with all other social networks or websites, I tend to see these micro-blogging services as a means to generate exposure for websites and businesses, particularly because they can send traffic through the insertion of relevant links.

I was going through few sites and i came across 3 more sites which i really liked and i think they would be really helpful for me to increase my site popularity and visits.

List below are few examples of Microblogging.

1) Twitter:

Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that allows users to send "updates" (or "tweets"; text-based posts, up to 140 characters long) to the Twitter website, via short message service (e.g. on a cell phone), instant messaging, or a third-party application such as Twitterrific or Facebook.

Updates are displayed on the user's profile page and instantly delivered to other users who have signed up to receive them. The sender can restrict delivery to those in his or her circle of friends (delivery to everyone is the default). Users can receive updates via the Twitter website, instant messaging, SMS, RSS, email or through an application. For SMS, four gateway numbers are currently available: short codes for the USA, Canada, and India, as well as a UK number for international use. Several third parties offer posting and receiving updates via email.

2) Pownce :

Pownce is a free social networking and micro-blogging site started by Internet entrepreneurs Kevin Rose, Leah Culver, Daniel Burka, and Shawn Allen. Pownce is centered around sharing messages, files, events, and links with already-established friends. The site launched on June 27, 2007, and was opened to the public on January 22, 2008. I wont say pownce has copied idea from twitter but i would say that few functionality of this site is same as twitters.

3) Jaiku

is a social networking, micro-blogging and life streaming service comparable to . Jaiku was founded in February 2006 by Jyri Engeström and Petteri Koponen from Finland and launched in July of that year. It was purchased by Google on October 9, 2007.

If you any more sites like this i would love to see your comment on it.
