Curatorial note

You look for where it starts. Everyone does. There is no first line. Each one leans on another, which leans on another, until the leaning is the whole picture. Underneath, the grey. Older lines, half buried. The blue was laid over them and could not have been laid anywhere else. Where the lines cross most, the blue knots and darkens. That is the place you would point to and call yourself. It is not a thing. It is a crossing. Take the lines away and nothing is left standing there. The pale ground shows only where nothing was put on top. It is the one part of this that was never made.
